are a variety of wedding ceremonies available that Nancy performs: Religious, Non-denominational, Spiritual, and Civil. Share
your ideas with her. Ask questions. Think about what you want.
NON-DENOMINATIONAL, TRADITIONAL
This includes
classical wedding music, prayers of blessing, exchange of rings.
SPIRITUAL
These are truly as diverse and
creative as each couple. Celtic, metaphysical, creative ceremonies.
CIVIL
No mention of God and no prayers.
It can be modified from the traditional ceremony; or it can be extremely short, or anything inbetween.
TYPES OF
WEDDINGS
LARGE WEDDINGS. Usually held in a church, wedding chapel, outdoors, or hotel. The bridal party consists
of several bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, and ring bearer. Guests are usually 100 plus. Live music is usually included,
as well as a disc jockey, for the reception. Ushers seat the guests. A Rehearsal is highly recommended. A wedding director
coordinates the wedding party and music.
SMALL WEDDINGS. Often held in a church, wedding chapel, home, garden,
parks, other outdoor venues. The budget and guest list are small. There may or may not be a Rehearsal. GARDEN WEDDING. Available upon request for weddings up to 50
guests.
CHILDREN. Nancy encourages the participation of children in the wedding, whether they are junior
bridesmaids, flower girls, ring bearers, children of the couple, musicians, readers. They contribute so much to the ceremony.
Memories are made of the innocense and unexpected. She loves to incorporate them into the ceremony.
REHEARSALS.
Wedding rehearsals are usually the day before the wedding. They need to be booked with the minister. The wedding party needs
to attend to practice their roles and cues. It makes such a difference at the wedding.
PARTY OF TWO. Frequently,
couples want just the two of them, and perhaps a couple of family members or friends, to attend. Nancy has her office and
home available for small weddings, up to ten people. Sometimes, a home or park is used. Legally, all it takes is two people,
the minister, and the license.
SECRET MARRIAGES. Some couples want to be secretely married and not announce it;
because they want a "real" wedding later. These are such fun! Sometimes, one is going into the military service;
othertimes, they need the medical insurance. There are a variety of reasons, but it is surprisingly quite common. Nancy can
keep a secret.
RENEWAL OF VOWS. Couples, who want to renew their vows, are encouraged to do so. Children are welcomed
participants. Couples strengthening their commitment and remembering their promises to one another rejuvinates the marriage
and creates a stronger bond between them.
